Message from the President
Dear Colleagues, Distinguished Scientists
When we founded the Cellular Stress and Molecular Mechanisms Association, we started from a fundamental belief; “science advances when boundaries are removed”.
In today's medicine, cellular stress responses, molecular signaling networks, epigenetic regulation and intracellular adaptation mechanisms are at the center of both basic science research and clinical applications. However, these two fields often seek answers to the same questions from different points of view.
It is possible for a problem that starts at the cellular level to find a response in clinical practice by understanding molecular mechanisms and developing therapeutic approaches. Our association was established to gather this holistic perspective under an institutional roof and to enlarge the common mind. In this context, it aims to promote scientific research by increasing cooperation and information sharing among scientists working on common ground.
In our association, we aim to create an environment where researchers who study mechanisms at the molecular level and physicians who observe the clinical side of the disease can discuss common concepts but from different perspectives around the same table. We believe that the bridge between the change in the cellular stress response of a disease and its clinical manifestations can only be solved through a strong interdisciplinary dialog. Developing a common terminology, supporting translational research and creating an interdisciplinary vision for young researchers are among our priorities.
Cellular stress and molecular mechanisms aim to be a “science platform” that includes a wide range of clinical studies from cancer to neurodegenerative diseases, metabolic syndrome to inflammatory processes, encourages mutual learning and paves the way for new collaborations. The letter “H” in our association's logo symbolizes the strong and sustainable bridge we aim to build between basic medical sciences and clinical sciences. This bridge represents the production of value to society by combining knowledge from the laboratory to the clinic with experience.
Supporting young researchers, encouraging multidisciplinary projects, organizing meetings to establish national and international collaborations are among our main priorities. We know that producing together, thinking together and moving forward together will make the universal language of science stronger.
We wish to move forward together, guided by scientific production, mutual respect and intellectual curiosity.
Yours sincerely,
Prof. Dr. Gamze Tanrıöver
